Onion rings are commonly known as a great side dish for burgers, corn dogs and other entrées. But the folks at Tastemade have figured out a way to upgrade them, promoting them from lowly side dish to star of the entire meal.

Thanks to a video posted by Tastemade that shows you how to make this culinary dream come true, there’s a whole new way to enjoy this tasty side dish. Which means that everything you thought you knew about eating onion rings is going to have to change.

All you need to bring this new form of onion ring to life is bacon, onion slices and a small amount of teriyaki sauce. Once you’ve coated the onions with teriyaki, just wrap them up in bacon, add some more teriyaki sauce on top and throw them in the oven!

Note: this does not require a deep fryer, so not only did your life just get tastier, but it also got a whole lot easier.

And one more thing. Obviously, this dish is guaranteed to be absolutely delicious because, bacon. But on top of that, it’s also a low-carb option to breaded onion rings!
